A natural mineral sunscreen that combines titanium dioxide and zinc oxide to provide protection against UVA and UVB rays. No nano particles just finely micronized minerals protect the skin form pre mature ageing and sun damage. Also infused with Aloe, Rose Hip, Shea Butter and Calendula to nourish and protect this light cream is easily absorbed and leaves no white residue.
Apply liberally before sunbathing, reapply after swimming.
Information on Nano Zinc Oxide and Nano Titanium Dioxide Used in this Product
Not all nano particles are equal in size. Any particle with one or more external dimensions, or an internal structure, on the scale from 1 to 100nm is considered nano. Both Zinc Oxide and Titanium dioxide used in this product have geometric mean particle size on or above 75nm. At that size Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide are considered safe and will not penetrate the skin.
The Organic Pharmacy’s Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide are additionally surface coated which reduces the photo activity of both by 99%. This means they do not react with UV releasing free radicals. Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide will also agglomerate within the formulation hence the particle size distribution will get larger once in a formulation, however this cannot be measured.
We do believe that this offers effective and safe protection for adults and children over 6 months old, and provides a safer alternative to chemical filters.
